With a very wet spring, which gave a lot of work to our entire team, and a very dry summer, the 2020 vintage is one of all contrasts. Thanks in particular to a month of September with a more "balanced" climatology, the grapes have reached perfect aromatic and phenolic maturity, while retaining remarkable freshness and minerality.
Château La Peyruche is located on beautiful hills overlooking the Garonne. This wine comes from an « assemblage » of plots with gravelly red and clay-limestone soils.
Since the beginning of 2019, the vineyard has changed to a complete organic viticulture.
This wine is made from Merlot grape variety.
The grapes are harvested when the aromatic maturity is reached.
After settling, the fermentation is then conducted at a low
temperature to preserve all the fruity character of this wine.
On the first nose, the fruits dominate : yellow peach and apricot in particular. Then, little by little, this wine reveals all its complexity with floral notes (lime blossom) and a lightly toasted touch. On the palate, the attack is lively but the tasting ends in a round shape.
